Using Nozzles or Tips – the use of nozzles or tips helps to customize the fan spray according to the cleaning needs of the operator. If you are using your pressure washer to remove or strip off paint, then it is important that you use a nozzle that has a narrow fan spray to get the most power from the pressurized water. However, if you are using your unit just to rinse off soap on your car, pool, or other solid surfaces, then you need to use a nozzle with a wider fan spray to cover more area with just swipe of the wand. The truth is there are even pressure washer tips that can be attached for dispensing detergents. This helps to make washing while applying detergent easier.

Using Chemicals – if you plan on using chemicals to boost the cleaning power of your pressure washer unit, it is important that you first read your manufacturer’s instructions manual to confirm if your unit is capable of handling chemicals. Doing this simple check will help to prevent you from damaging your unit.

Adjusting the Power – it is important that you adjust the power of your unit accordingly. However, if your unit does not come with pressure adjustment, try pressure washing from at least 10 feet away and closing the distance until the desired cleaning effect is achieved.

Spraying – when pressure washing, it is important that you clean with the stream of water as if you are spray painting. Try covering an area and moving only to the next as soon as the area you are cleaning is done.
